Waukegan Harbor & Marina is excited to announce the “Duck Fun Day” event, set to take place on August 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The celebration will mark the 40th Anniversary of the South Harbor and feature the World’s Largest Rubber Duck, “Mama Duck,” standing over 60ft. tall alongside her 10ft. little duckling Baby Duck “Timmy.” This will be the first time Mama and Baby Duck make their maiden voyage to the Chicago-Milwaukee corridor, making Waukegan Harbor & Marina their inaugural stop.
The event promises a day full of family-friendly activities and entertainment, all while promoting the appreciation and preservation of natural resources. Highlights of “Duck Fun Day” include:
- Duck Selfies – Capture fun moments with Mamma and Baby Rubber Ducks.
- Face Painting – Duck-themed face painting for kids and adults alike.
- Live Bands – Featuring performances at Green Town on the Rocks.
- Food Trucks – A variety of delicious food options to satisfy your cravings.
- Duck-Themed Activities – Games and fun for all ages.
- Vendors – Local Non-for-Profit businesses and unique offerings.
- WDRV The Drive’s Road Crew – Enjoy onsite fun, giveaways and broadcast.
- Dunk Tank – Fun trying your luck at dunking local celebrities.
- Live DJ – Dance to music throughout the day with DJ Spontaneous
- Touch-A-Truck – A chance to explore an Engine with the Waukegan Fire Department.
- Duck Chalk Drawings – A creative space for children to draw their own duck designs by the Horse-shoe area by C Peir.
- Jet Ski Show – Watch exciting stunts by Ski Extreme Productions on the water.
- Photography – Photos of event will be taken local Photographer by Jay Stephen.
- Lighted Boat Parade – Boats decorated as “Duck Themed” parade followed by Lighted Jet Pack
